Former ad agency receptionist’s brain injury case settled

A High Court action taken by the husband of a once “bubbly and vivacious” advertising agency receptionist in which it was claimed she suffered brain damage allegedly as a result of a hospital procedure performed shortly after she returned from her honeymoon in June 2005 has been settled without disclosure.

Avril Doyle, 46, sued through her husband, Dick Doyle, chief executive of Phonographic Performance Ireland (PPI). Ms Doyle (nee O’Keeffe) worked as a receptionist for Carat Ireland and Des O’Meara & Partners. Her late father, Ray O’Keeffe, ran O’Keeffe Advertising and was on the board of the Irish Permanent Building Society.
