Griffith College’s MA and post graduate diploma courses in journalism and public relations have been accredited by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII). Griffith College is the fifth institution in Ireland to receive this accreditation from the PRII. The courses are offered on a part-time and full-time basis at Griffith College’s campus in Dublin.
The curricula for both courses are aimed at providing students with a well-rounded communications qualification that increases their employability as first time entrants to the work-place or as existing workers who wish to further pursue their professional development. The independent, third level institution has run media courses for almost 25 years.
YOUNG PROS
Three young professionals have made the shortlist for this year’s Young Communications Professional of the Year, which is part of the Excellence in Public Relations awards run by the PRII and the PRCA. The nominees are Nicole Chesser, consultant, Teneo; Fiona Hanna, director, Jago Communications and Eamonn Lawler, senior account manager, Hume Brophy.
The award celebrates rising talent in the communications industry. Participants must be 28 or younger. Thirteen early career professionals competed for the title this year, the highest number ever to enter the category. The Awards for Excellence in PR are due to be presented next month. However, due to Government restrictions, the format remains under review.
