Harvey Norman vows to stay in Ireland

Australian electrical and furniture retailer Harvey Norman will continue to trade in Ireland despite reporting a net loss of €41.1 million in the year to June, Aidan Brady, general manager of finance and adminstration at Harvey Norman Ireland (HNI), has said.
Brady said the company was committed to Ireland for the long-term. Each of its 16 stores was losing money, with sales down by as much as 40 per cent. Last year, a spokesman for HNI said they had regrets about coming to Ireland.
Harvey Norman advertising is well known for its brash, in-your-face radio and TV commercials voiced by a ‘true blue, dinky-di’ Aussie-accented male actor.
