IAPI brings back Rant Night

The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) is staging a second Rant Night, allowing adlanders a chance to speak frankly on industry issues. At this stage, IAPI has confirmed eight ranters will take to the podium in the Sugar Club next Wednesday. Dr Ken McKenzie of TCD will speak about the phoney war in planning in Ireland and Danielle Donnelly of Mediabrands will explore media tools, how reliable is the data?

Ogilvy’s Dave Smyth (above) speaks on 12 years a slave – why low hourly rates are creating wage slavery. Rachel Carey of Publicis will discuss Live in the time of timesheets – why suits and creatives need to “play nice”. Finian Murphy of Irish International looks at agency collaboration and he poses the question: why can’t we all work together?Julian Lynch, iProspect, talks about looking beyond the next day, week or month in digital.

Brando’s Darren McGrath’s bugbear is how fragmentation breathes confusion and why digital stands accused.

Rant Night is in the Sugar Club from 6.30pm to 9pm next Wednesday, January 29th.
