Javelin co-founder Conor Kennedy dies

Javelin Advertising co-founder and acclaimed copywriter Conor Kennedy has died from cancer. Widely known for his trademark long white hair and moustache, he helped launch the new agency with fellow creatives Joe Dobbin and Paul Myers in 1986. Javelin soon developed a strong creative reputation and won Toyota, Finches and Irish Ferries accounts.

Toyota Ireland franchise owner Tim Mahony of Killeen Investments later exported various creative work devised by Javelin for use in some overseas markets. The agency’s current client list includes AA, Aviva, BT, SSE Airtricity and UCD.
