Killane gets executive role at Eurovision Sport

Former RTÉ group head of sport Glen Killane has been promoted to executive director of Eurovision Sport, having worked as deputy director of sport at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for the past two years. Killane spent over 14 years with RTÉ in various sports and TV management roles before joining Eir Sport as managing director.

At the EBU, he was responsible for rights acquisitions across European and North America.

As a union member of the EBU, Eurovision Sport negotiates global sport content for public service broadcasters, driven by the hopes and ambitions of members, not purely commercial goals. The sports rights provide federations with easy access to our membership of public service broadcasters throughout Europe and beyond.

As well as rights management, the Geneva-headquartered Eurovision Sport operates as a ‘one-stop-shop’, working with other broadcasters on production, broadcast rights distribution (TV, radio and online), event organisation and archive management.
