NewsBrands Ireland has appointed Ann Marie Lenihan to the new position of chief executive officer, following a strategic review by its management committee. Lenihan has worked with the newspaper industry for over 20 years, most recently as communications and public affairs manager for the lobby group previously known as National Newspapers of Ireland (NNI).

Working alongside her agency colleague at Cullen Communications, Frank Cullen, who was NNI director for many years, Lenihan directed the industry body’s initiatives and events and managed public policy. She was the representative on News Media Europe’s advertising taskforce and a member of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASAI) complaints committee.

NewsBrands Ireland is chaired by former INM chairman Vincent Crowley.

Director Dara McMahon recently resigned to become marketing manager at Aer Lingus.
