German discounter Lidl has again signed up as sponsor of Gogglebox Ireland which airs on Virgin Media One at 9pm from next Wednesday, September 11. With season five’s return, viewers can expect plenty of laughs, strong opinions and the occasional tear as the nation’s favourite telly lovers remind us of what has been on the box over the last seven days.
The package will see Lidl own the on air broadcast sponsorship of Gogglebox Ireland on Virgin Media One and the digital sponsorship across Virgin Media Player and Virgin Media on Demand. Lidl’s Niamh O’Rourke said the the brand’s ‘Big Saver’ campaign follows Irish couples, siblings and families as they navigate the aisles for their weekly food shop.
“We’re delighted to once again sponsor Gogglebox Ireland as it as it returns to Irish screens and gives us a similar glimpse into the viewing habits of the Irish public, in the run up to a busy Christmas period,” O’Rourke added. The deal was brokered by Core Sponsorship, whose sister agency, Mediaworks, handles the brand’s buying and planning.
