Marketer of the Year shortlist announced

The four finalists for this year’s Marketer of the Year have been announced by the chairman of the award’s judging panel, Dr Damien McLoughlin, professor of marketing at the UCD Smurfit Business School. The four contenders are Emma Walls, marketing director, Glenisk; Peter McKenna, GAA commercial and stadium director of Croke Park; Tom Keogh, Keoghs Crisps and Jim Miley and John Concannon of The Gathering.

Marketer of the Year, a Marketing.ie initiative sponsored by Alternatives, recognises and honours standards of excellence in Irish marketing, specifically for work done in the last two years. The person is someone, who through the use of strategy, innovation, communications and impact on the target market, has made their brand, product or service a major success. Candidates are invited to make formal submissions.

The other judges this year are Pat Kiely, commercial director, TV3; Carol Fanagan, business strategy director, Red C; Jamie Helly,managing director, Dynamo; Carolyn Odgers, marketing consultant; Rosita Wolfe, head of marketing, National Concert Hall; Tom Kinsella, group marketing director, AIB; John Mitchell, managing director, Strata3; Claire Cluskey, director, Empirica and Liz Rowen, head of marketing, Aviva Healthcare.

This year’s winner will be announced at an industry lunch on November 13.
