Musgrave is to change the name of its Superquinn stores to SuperValu from next February. Due to a reorganisation in Superquinn, 102 staff will be made redundant in the next 18 months, reducing the workforce to 2,500 employees in 222 stores. As well as the name change, SuperValu plans to invest €10 million to complete the refurbishment of the Superquinn store network. Musgrave group chief executive Chris Martin said SuperValu has grown by 30 per cent over the last 10 years and has yearly retail sales of just over €2 billion.
SuperValu advertising is hamdled by DDFH&B. Superquinn moved to DDFH&B from Boys and Girls last year.
