Newstalk 106-108 is running a poster campaign on the corner site of Earlsfort Terrace and St Stephen’s Green with messages that take a shot at its main rival RTE. Frank Cronin, chief executive, Newstalk, said the campaign proposition was that the station delivers the best independent analysis of the issues in Ireland.
The ads, which run on either side of Canada House, the former Canadian Embassy, comprise two large posters with striking white copy on red backgrounds and the messages written in bold letters: ‘Get the news without the State-run spin’ and ‘Truth you won’t hear anywhere else’.

“We’re not a public service funded body,” Cronin said, “so our analysis is not encumbered in any way by budget cuts, nor are we in any way politically-controlled. Current issues in our country require diligence and rigour in their analysis, so we’re proud of the prowess in our schedule.”
The station’s creative work was handled by Jody Ronaldson and Adept.
Newstalk claims to be the first Irish broadcast medium to release an iPad app. The app features listen live, archive, podcasts and live video streaming from the station’s TV studio cameras. Newstalk TV also features on the iPhone app.
