Setanta Sports has announced an advertising package for the forthcoming schools rugby tournament which runs from the start of February to the end of March. The €2,800 price gives advertisers 40 30-second spots. If advertisers request position fixing, a 33 per cent surcharge applies, sales director John Devlin said.
A report in today’s Irish Times says concert promoter Denis Desmond is about to sell his 60 per cent stake in Setanta Sports to co-founder Michael O’Rourke. O’Rourke is also said to be acquiring the stakes of co-founder Leonard Ryan and director Mark O’Meara, giving O’Rourke total ownership of the business.
Setanta ran into problems two years ago when its UK business collapsed and Desmond came to its rescue.
