Subway goes with Pembroke

The Subway sandwich franchise company has appointed Pembroke Communications to handle its public relations in Ireland. Pembroke is being hired to work on consumer, corporate, public affairs and sponsorship activity across its 100-plus store network. Pembroke’s deputy managing director Alan Tyrrell (pictured above) will lead the account with support from Sarah Wagstaff’s consumer team at the agency.

Subway is one of the largest fast service sandwich networks in Ireland. The brand has pioneered menu information with calorie counts displayed for its sandwiches. Its Low Fat Subs contain less than 3g of fat per 100g and fewer than 370 calories per six-inch Sub. Munster Ireland and British & Irish Lions rugby star Tommy Bowe fronts ad campaigns. Subway has 39,577 restaurants in 102 countries.
