Businessman Dr John Teeling and Stephen Teeling will give a special address to alumni of the UCD School of Business when they talk about the story of Cooley Distillery early next month. The talk will be followed by a whiskey tasting in the Laurence Crowley boardroom in the UCD Smurfit School.
UCD’s Prof Damien McLoughlin, who is one of the judges for this year’s Marketer of the Year award, will facilitate the speakers by giving a history of the Co Louth company and talk about how an Irish brand went global to compete against drinks giants like Pernod Ricard, maker of Jameson.
There will also be time set aside for a Q&A session. After the lecture, Cooley’s master blender Noel Sweeney will provide guests with a whiskey masterclass. The event starts at 6pm on Wednesday, October 7th and tickets (€25) are available from the UCD Smurfit School.
