Marketers and their agencies are reminded they now have three days to finalise submissions for this year’s Marketer of the Year award. Launched in 1993, the award salutes Ireland’s top marketers who through passion and commitment have developed winning brand strategies. The person is someone who through the use of strategy, innovation, communications and impact on the target market has created an outstanding brand.
Those interested in entering the award must outline the scale of the marketing challenge faced and the key aims and objectives. Each entry should detail the strategy adopted, the implications for the business, key insights driving the strategy and the actions taken and tactics used. The judges want to know about the impact on the market (for example, sales and brand awareness) and how the success was actually measured.
Last year’s winner was Kevin Donnelly, marketing director, Britvic Ireland (pictured above).
This year’s judging panel is again chaired by Dr Damien McLoughlin, professor of marketing at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Blacktock, Co Dublin. He is joined by Pat Kiely, TV3; Carol Fanagan, Red C; Jamie Helly, Dynamo; Carolyn Odgers, consultant; Tom Kinsella, AIB; Rosita Wolfe, National Concert Hall; John Mitchell, Strata3; Claire Cluskey, Empirica and Liz Rowen, Aviva Healthcare.
Marketer of the Year is a Marketing.ie initiative sponsored by Alternatives.
