Tipp FM has launched a new studio on site at the Showgrounds Shopping Centre in Clonmel and becomes the first independent radio station to set up a second studio in a shopping centre. Initially, the station will broadcast its mid-afternoon show every Saturday from the new studio.
Fran Curry, programme controller, Tipp FM, said the move will allow the station to conduct celebrity interviews and for listeners to get to meet them. Listeners will be able to meet presenters and personally enter competitions and avail of giveaways.
Tipp FM is second only to Highland Radio as the top independent station in terms of listenership figures. With a daily audience of almost 65,000, the station is listened to in homes across the county and has a market share of 52.6 per cent.
