Mediaworks wins gold at Sharks

Mediaworks was among the gold winners at the Sharks festival in Kinsale. The agency was honoured for media excellence for Johnston Mooney & O’Brien’s Bundys brand in innovative media strategy and use. Mediaworks beat off work by Forsman & Bodenfors Stockholm for Volvo and Publicis London for DePaul.

Mediaworks’ Fiona Field said the ‘A day like today deserves Bundys’ campaign broke the rules of traditional media sponsorships and showed how to make the client’s budget work harder to drive awareness and sales.

John Rooney of JM&O’B said the summer is a critical time for the Bundys brand. “We tasked Mediaworks with coming up with an innovative and cost-effective way of providing cut-through when the weather was good, to help increase sales when the bun category is at its peak. We were delighted with the campaign results.

“To win gold at the Sharks is a real bonus,” Rooney added. It is the second year in a row Mediaworks has won gold at the Kinsale awards show after claiming the best use of a single media for McDonald’s last year.
