It is understood Irish Distillers has appointed Boys and Girls to handle its Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) after a four-way contest. As well as the Ballsbridge agency, two of IDL’s other roster shops, Rothco and the incumbent Cawley NeaTBWA, along with Publicis, were invited to present for the JDIFF.
Irish Distillers’ marketing director Gavin O’Doherty, a former Publicis client services director,was not available for comment. and a spokesman for Boys and Girls could not confirm or deny developments.
Jameson’s French parent group Pernod Ricard recently reported a 15 per cent rise in volume and an 18 per cent increase in brand value. The drinks giant sold 3,966 million cases last year and expects to soon reach its target of four million cases a year. The US is its biggest market, with sales up by 29 per cent.
The Jameson win follows on from the agency’s appointment by Nissan Ireland, previously with Leo Burnett.
