Core gives Lottery a new voice assistant app

The National Lottery has become one of the first lotteries in Europe to launch a voice assistant application allowing players to check their numbers on Lotto, EuroMillions and Daily Million draws. The Lottery Now app, developed by Core, is available to Google Home and Amazon Alexa users and allows them check their lottery numbers by voice.

The app allows users to check numbers on National Lottery draw-based games and to check if jackpots have been won. All consumers need to do is speak to either Google Home or Amazon Echo ‘Alexa’ devices and the technology will respond to commands such as “What’s tonight’s Lotto jackpot?” or “What were last night’s EuroMillions’ numbers?”

Dermot Griffin, CEO, National Lottery said it is thought that one in five web searches will done by voice by the year 2020. Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on Lottery games go back to good causes all over Ireland. Last year over €226 million was raised by the National Lottery and its players for good causes all over the Republic of Ireland, Griffin added.
