Impractical took the top spot in the NNI Press Ad of the Month for November, making it a second consecutive win for DDFH&B and Dublin City Council. The ad was again created by a team which comprised creative director Gavin O’Sullivan, copywriter Paddy Treacy and art direction by Mark Shanley.
The entries were judged by Damian Hanley of Rothco and Craig Farrell of Starcom. Hanley said the DCC ad was a simple idea which does not lecture. Farrell liked the fact that the ad was clearly executed and that it made an amusing use of a not very funny scenario.
The ad and all those shortlisted this month will be eligible to enter the art direction and copywriting categories in the NNI Press Ad of the Year Awards. All ads published in NNI national newspapers during 2012 are eligible to enter the industry-specific categories.
