Vanessa Hartley has joined Ireland’s new health insurer GloHealth as commercial director. A former group marketing director at Aviva Ireland, where she was in charge of health, general insurance and life and pensions, Hartley will now direct the new company’s sales and marketing activities. GloHealth is backed by Oliver Tattan of Insurance Regulatory Capital. Tattan was previously chief executive at Vivas and VHI.
Image Now created GloHealth’s brand identity and advertising. Open Communications is handling media, Drury the public relations and Brando online plans. GloHealth’s policies are underwritten by Great Lakes Reinsurance, part of Munich Re, which has €50 billion in premium income. GloHealth’s USP is giving customers hospital cash plans – money back on daily health expenses such as GP, dental and optical costs.
Hartley was a runner-up for the Marketing.ie Marketer of the Year two years ago for her respositioning of Aviva Health, through “focus and resilience”. She increased sales by 70 per cent and doubled market share.
