Kitty Holland of The Irish Times has won the top award for her reporting of the Savita Halappanavar story at the National Newspapers of Ireland (NNI) of the year awards. In all, 21 awards were presented for journalism work this year at an industry awards lunch in the Four Seasons hotel. Irish Independent reporter Paul Williams won the Scoop of the Year for his coverage of the Anglo Tapes. A special award was presented posthumously to Kerry teenager Donal Walsh who died of cancer for his outstanding contribution to public debate.
