Irish girls in contention to be top Spongebob fan

A 12-year-old girl from south county Dublin and a Limerick teenager are among five finalists in a competition run by the Nickelodeon children’s channel to be named the number one fan of the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon character in the UK and Ireland.
Hannah Maharry gives nick.co.uk viewers a tour of her home in Dalkey and dances playfully in Spongebob and Patrick masks with her seven-year-old sister, Faye. Her parents, Robert and Michi, also feature in the video, which can be downloaded on YouTube.
The 13-year-old girl from Limerick, Courtney, performs a rap dance on her video. Each of the five finalists is hoping to be named Spongebob Superfan in the coming weeks. To do so, they must first secure as many votes as possible for their themed video entries.
The five contestants will meet up in London where they will appear on a Spongebob quiz show. The ultimate winner will enjoy a trip to the US and get the chance to host a TV show on Nickelodeon.
People are invited to cast their votes for Spongebob Superfan by clicking on nick.co.uk/spongebob superfan. Voting closes at 1pm on Thursday, September 24th.
