KBC Bank Ireland won the gold for best technology innovation at the Digital Media Awards. The award recognised the partnership with Mediaworks and the Journal.ie in creating ‘Experience Your World’. The campaign allows consumers to experience spaces around them in virtual reality (VR) – such as iconic landmarks, homes and city neighbourhoods.
In using VR tech and exclusive data and content, ‘Experience Your World’ was also recognised in the best native content category in winning a bronze. KBC Bank Ireland’s director of customer, brand and marketing, Aidan Power, said VR continues to grow. The campaign allows consumers to use the tech to experience spaces in a whole new way.
KBC won a second bronze for its relaunched mobile app in financial services. The Digital Media Awards recognise creativity and innovation across content creation, advertising and marketing, mobile media, app development, social networking, web design and development.
