With most of its drive thru outlets now open, McDonald’s is welcoming customers back using out of home (OOH) ads created by Leo Burnett, Mediaworks and Source OOH. Leading with its iconic products, the world’s most famous fast food chain amusingly taps into customer behaviour with ‘Gherkin or Gherkout is Back’ and ‘Fry Pinching is Back’ messages.
The ads run on bus shelters, retail, airport and cinema six sheets close to outlets nationwide. Roadside and retail DOOH provide extra coverage in key locations and environments. PML Group’s Pinpoint mapping platform helped facilitate the targeted OOH placements. More recently, McDonald’s partially reopened its restaurants for dine-in service.
Jennifer Power, social media and marketing manager, McDonald’s, said it is no secret the nation has missed McDonald’s.”But it’s more than just the food our customers have missed – it’s also the rituals, the experiences, the little lifts to everyday life,” Power said. “The OOH campaign celebrates welcoming our customers back to some simple moments of normality.”
