Economist David McWilliams appears in his first advertising campaign for Bulmers cider. The tongue-in-cheek TV commercial created by Young Euro RSCG sees McWilliams explain the principles of economics, or ‘orchardomics’, to regular characters Tom, Dessie and Liam in the Bulmers orchard in Clonmel.

The campaign, called Doing Our Bit, is said to be a series of initiatives in making life in Ireland a little bit better. Stephen Kent, marketing director, Bulmers, said his company was “doing its bit” environmentally by planting 130,000 apple trees. The ad was produced by Russell Curran and directed by Damien O’Donnell.
It breaks this Friday, June 3, to coincide with Bulmers’ Forbidden Fruit urban festival in Dublin this weekend.
