Mediaworks has been appointed by Irish Life to handle its media buying and planning following a four-way pitch. Also in the running for the account were OMD, Vizeum and the incumbent, Mindshare. Irish Life marketing director Brendan McEvoy and head of communications Karl Symes overlooked the process. Brian Sparks of Agency Assessments and Accenture managed the exercise for the Canada Life-owned company.
Irish Life & Permanent had been a single entity and Mindshare also handled the Permanent TSB. PTSB was put up for review earlier this year after which it moved to PHD. Meanwhile, Marketing.ie has learned that only two agencies are now pitching for Liberty Insurance, following Vizeum’s withdrawal from the process. The US insurer is now seeing presentations from Omnicom’s PHD and the incumbent, Mediaworks.
