A new report by Guaranteed Irish claims that 83 per cent of consumers see the mark as a way of helping the local economy through the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis. Additionally, the study says 63 per cent of consumers surveyed declared a preference to buy Guaranteed Irish brands from Irish business/retailers when shopping during the pandemic.
The study was conducted by Red C on a nationwide sample of 1,019 Irish consumers between January 2020 and March 2020. The research comes at a time when many Irish businesses are facing a unprecedented challenge as a result of Covid-19 and buying Irish is seen by consumers as a tangible way of supporting trusted local businesses.
The research coincides with a new partnership with Davy, recently awarded the Guaranteed Irish mark, to sponsor Guaranteed Irish’s new business webinar series. The series is aimed at helping B2B networking in an online format at a time of increased remote working. The series will feature experts from Davy, KPMG, Matheson and CBRE.
The webinars will focus on various issues, including the development of roadmaps for the return to work. Launched on a pilot basis when Covid-19 infection control measures were introduced in March, the series now has a weekly reach of over 13,500 listeners. Guaranteed Irish has 1,200 business members that employ over 90,000 people.
The body has an annual Irish turnover of €11.2 billion and a global turnover of €29.7bn.
