RTE’s Miriam O’Callaghan and Ryan Tubridy share top spot in a survey of Ireland’s most popular TV personalities. The two hosts each earned an 18 per cent share of a public poll conducted by Onside Sponsorship, followed by Gay Byrne, Pat Kenny and TV3 late night presenter Vincent Browne in the top five.
The top ten was rounded off by the late Gerry Ryan, BBC personality Graham Norton, Ray D’Arcy, RTE newsreader Anne Doyle and football pundit Eamon Dunphy. On the radio front, Today FM’s Ray D’Arcy topped the poll with 13 per cent, followed by RTE presenters Kenny, Tubridy, Liveline’s Joe Duffy and Ryan.
Newstalk presenters George Hook, Tom Dunne, Sean Moncrieff, Ivan Yates and Eoin McDevitt were among the most admired radio hosts from the interviews with 1,001 Irish adults. Commenting on the results, Onside’s Tom Trainor said it was interesting to see mid-morning to lunch presenters coming out on top.
