Flogas Ireland has appointed Publicis Dublin as its lead creative agency. The Flogas win follows on from the Bord Gáis Energy (BGE) account moving from Publicis to JWT Folk in an WPP alignment by BGE owner Centrica. In turn, Flogas was handled up to recently by JWT Folk. Launched in 1978, Flogas Ireland supplies LPG bulk tank and bottled gas.
Over the last 10 years, the Drogheda-based company extended its offering in the Republic to include natural gas to home and business customers and has supplied electricity to businesses since 2016. With the recent purchase of Just Energy, Flogas now also supplies electricity and dual-fuel products to thousands of homes across the country.
The company competes in the North’s commercial natural gas market. John Rooney, managing director, Flogas Ireland, said Publicis’s track record in the utility sector, coupled with their creative credentials, make them a strong fit. Rooney said he was looking forward to working with the Publicis team on the evolution of the Flogas business and brand.
Publicis managing director Padraig Burns (above) said Ireland’s energy market was rapidly evolving. “We look forward to helping Flogas execute their ambitious growth plans for the future across their LPG, natural gas and electricity offerings,” he added. Other Publicis clients include VHI, Heineken, Iarnród Éireann, Permanent TSB, Renault and Virgin Media.
