RTÉ Digital plans to take over the selling of advertising on its RTÉ News Now app and mobile site m.rte.ie directly from the start of next year. Up to now, RTÉ Digital has worked with Adforce, part of the Digital Reach Group (DRG) founded by Colm Grealy. Confirming the news, Conor Mullen, commercial director, RTÉ Digital, said almost 60 per part of web traffic is being accessed from mobile devices.
“We now believe this is the most opportune time for RTÉ Digital Sales to manage the sales of advertising across the RTÉ Player, RTÉ News Now and RTÉ Mobile,” Mullen said. Almost half of the RTÉ News Now audience is aged between 15-34. Almost 60 per cent of the RTÉ Player mobile audience is in the same age bracket and over half of users for both services are in the ABC1 category.
