TV3 signs up Costcutter for new soap

TV3 Signs Up Costcutter for Red Rock

As competition in the TV market intensifies ahead of the launch of UTV Ireland from January, TV3 is busy trying to secure product placement deals on its new Red Rock soap. Costcutter has signed up as the soap’s branded supermarket in an undisclosed deal for 2015. Owned by the Cork-based Barry Group, Costcutter has 120 stores nationwide. Red Rock is set in a Garda station in an unnamed north Dublin coastal community.

TV3 commercial director Pat Kiely, pictured right with Costcutter’s Jim Barry, says they are still in talks with a possible headline sponsor for Red Rock, co-produced by Ed Guiney’s Element and John Yorke’s Company Pictures. TV3 was awarded funds from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) Sound & Vision programme support scheme for the first two years of Red Rock. The half-hour soap will be broadcast twice a week at 8.30pm.
