CBS retains Croke Park contract

Croke Park

CBS Outdoor has been appointed by the GAA and Croke Park as their preferred business partner following the recent tender process for three individual contracts. The poster company has retained the contract to manage and operate Croke Park’s advertising and entertainment channels. CBS will also manage the GAA’s county signage and branding services for GAA senior hurling and football championships. CBS marketing manager Antoinette O’Callaghan said the new agreement will run for three and a half years.

CBS will extend their remit as service provider to commercial partner in relation to entertainment services within the stadium.  This will include the management and operation of the big screens and the internal TV system in Croke Park for both match day and non-match day events. Signage within the stadium includes static, rotational and digital formats. CBS has had the Croke Park contract for the past six years.

This week, the home of GAA football and hurling launched the Etihad Skyline tour of Croke Park. Skyline allows visitors go on a walkway suspended tour over the stadium, which has a drop of over 44 metres, or the same as 17 storeys. The Skyline cost the GAA €1.4 million to develop. Modelled on the Munich Olympic stadium rooftop tour, stadium director Peter McKenna calls it the “OMG walk”. An adult ticket is €25.
