McDonald joins Cullen Communications

Aoife McDonald, Cullen Communications

Aoife McDonald has joined Cullen Communications as senior client manager from WHPR. She has over seven years’ experience in consumer PR and sports marketing and sponsorship. She will be responsible for developing and implementing sponsorship for Continental Tyres as they assume title sponsorship of women’s football in Ireland, including the Continental Tyres women’s national league and the FAI Continental Tyres women’s cup.

At WHPR, she worked on Guinness and Carlsberg for Diageo and Adidas. More recently, she managed a number of high-profile sports sponsorships for Allied Irish Bank, Liberty Insurance, Dublin Marathon and Electric Ireland. A graduate of University of Ulster and DIT, she holds an honours degree in media and European studies and a masters in PR.

Founded in 1985 by former NNI co-ordinator Frank Cullen, Cullen Communications is Ireland’s member of Public Relations Global Network (PRGN), an invite-only world alliance of independent PR firms. Frank’s son, Owen Cullen, took over as managing director last year and his other son, Leo, who is Leinster Rugby’s forwards coach, is the agency’s chairman.
