Agencies gear up for BMW

BMW

A number of agencies pitched this week for the BMW car account, currently handled by McConnells. Along with the incumbent, others in contention are Boys and Girls, Chemistry, Rothco and Y&R. A decision is expected by the end of June. Amnesty International has appointed Irish International BBDO after a four-way pitch.

Boys and Girls has been appointed by Richmond Marketing to relaunch Kopparberg Cider following 18 months where the brand has been inactive. The agency has created a series of TV and radio commercials to highlight the cider’s thirst-quenching credentials delivered with that quirky Swedish sense of irony.

John Tolan, who handled Jameson at Irish Distillers, is the client contact. The TV work was shot by Clockwork, which has made Powerade and SuperValu commercials for McCann Erickson. Media is handled by Richmond Marketing’s agency, Clear Blue Water, part of Core Media Group.
