Ahlstrom gets invention role at Mindshare

David Ahlstrom, Mindshare 2

Following on from the appointment of Ken Nolan to deputy managing director and Jessica King to business director, Mindshare has announced David Ahlstrom to the new role of head of invention. The agency’s invention unit focuses on non-traditional activation through branded content, sponsorships, experiential and social media. The focus of the appointment is to define and develop media neutral communications platform for Mindshare clients. The position will work in tandem with the agency’s client leadership teams and GroupM.

Mindshare is part of WPP’s GroupM media agency group. Creativity in media is at the heart of the agency planning philosophy – underlined by the agency taking gold two of the last three years; 2012 for Mazda and 2014 for Lynx.  Since joining Mindshare, Ahlstrom has built up experience in business planning and client service and has worked across various clients and sectors. He worked on non-traditional neutral platforms, including the Heineken Cup and Music, Vhi Blue September and Lucozade, to name but a few.

In 2012, he helped set up and jointly run the business planning team as strategic planning director devising communications and media strategies for clients. He holds an MSC in Advertising from DIT and a bachelor of business studies degree from DCU.
