Former Ogilvy Dublin CEO and WPP’s country manager for Ireland JP Donnelly has extended his part-time roles by becoming chairman of London company Prominate. The promotional products supplier is a joint venture with a network of over 1,700 promotional materials industry experts, comprising 70 licensees for materials procurement and sourcing.
Prominate’s website claims that clients like American Express, PepsiCo, Siemens, BP Castrol, Axa, Asahi and Sandvik “can expect savings, process efficiencies and marketing results”. Donnelly lectures fourth level at the UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School on digital transformation, corporate regulation, retail innovation and strategic marketing.
A past chairman of the Marketing Institute, Donnelly worked with Dimension and Young and Rubicam (Y&R) in New York, before joining Ogilvy. As head of country for WPP, he oversees operations at Ogilvy, Wilson Hartnell PR and GroupM’s Mindshare, MediaCom and Wavemaker agencies. He has served on the board of the ISPCC children’s charity since 2014.
He is also a member of Leinster Rugby’s commercial and marketing advisory committee.
