Heineken looks to Core Creative for its ciders

Core has extended its links with Heineken Ireland by winning the creative advertising account for its portfolio of cider brands. Core’s Starcom has handled all of Heineken Ireland’s media buying and planning for many years. Heineken hired Rothco | Accenture Interactive to launch Orchard Thieves and Appleman’s to rival market leader Bulmers.

Core Creative won the Heineken ciders in a three-way pitch with Chemistry and JWT Folk.

Core boss Alan Cox has sought to expand the company beyond media buying, research, data and learning services to clients in recent times. Core Creative has handled campaigns for An Garda Síochána and Lily O’Brien’s chocolates. Creative director Mike Garner joined from Ogilvy and Liam Wielopolski was hired from DDB in Johannesburg.

Before moving to South Africa, Wielopolski worked in Dublin with Bloom.
