HSE Covid-19 ads again top BrandShout

The Government’s HSE Covid-19 campaign devised by TBWA\Dublin and Spark Foundry topped the BrandShout list of most recalled ads by Irish consumers in May after becoming the league leader in April, research by Ipsos MRBI for Marketing.ie shows. The Covid-19 ads have been running across all media since the coronavirus outbreak began in March.

German discounter Aldi jumped to second, swopping places with SuperValu, while Lidl remained in third place. Tesco and Vodafone stayed fifth and sixth. Dunnes Stores dropped one place to seventh, while Virgin remained at eight. Coke/Diet Coke moved from 11th spot to ninth. The survey showed four brands in 10th place, all of which were new entrants.

The four new brands were Avonmore, Brennans, Guinness and the National Lottery (above).

As many as six brands tied for 14th place in May – Cadbury (16th in April), Netflix (16), Sky (7), Three (new), Disney (9) and Kerrygold (new). Two brands completed the latest list, namely Eir (13) and the AA (new). BrandShout rates Ireland’s most recalled ads as part of Ipsos MRBI’s Omnipoll fortnightly telesurvey of 1,000 adults age 15 and over.
