Ireland back in country reputation league top 10

Ireland has jumped one place to re-enter the top 10 international rankings for national reputations in a public poll across former G8 nations (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, UK and the US), out of 55 countries surveyed in the annual Country RepTrak 2019 study. Ireland is now ahead of Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

For the second consecutive year, Sweden is the country with the world’s best reputation, while all other Nordic countries – Norway, Denmark and Finland – also feature in the top 10. The study was carried out by The Reputations Agency and Reputation Institute. The global study measures the reputation of the 55 countries based on the evaluation of 17 attributes.

The attributes are grouped into three dimensions that drive a country’s reputation, namely appealing environment (with a 38.2 per cent reputation weighting), effective government (37 per cent) and advanced economy (24.7 per cent). Ireland’s re-entry to the top 10 in 2019 reflects a steady improvement in rankings over the last number of years.

Ireland was ranked as low as 17th place in 2011.

The top 10 countries in the 2019 Country RepTrak are:
