Mattel launches Mad Men dolls

Shapely doll: Christina Hendricks as Joan Holloway in Mad Men

Mattel, the world renowned toy maker, is marketing a Barbie collection of dolls based on the characters of Matt Weiner’s award-winning drama, Mad Men. The latest series about lives on New York’s Madison Avenue in the early Sixties is now showing on RTE 1 Television late on Monday nights, with stings by Chemistry.

The New York Times said the dolls, which cost under $75 and come with period accessories, include the soap’s main characters, namely agency creative head, Don Draper, his wife Betty (some say, a Barbie replica), agency partner Roger Sterling and the sultry office manager, Joan Holloway.
