RB donates 40,000 Dettol products to HSE

Reckitt Benckiser, which trades in Ireland as RB, is donating 40,000 Dettol products to the Health Service Executive (HSE) to help in the fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic over the next three months. The antibacterial disinfectants will be distributed to hospitals and health facilities with the aim of keeping these environments hygienically clean.

Commenting on the initiative, Paul Reid, CEO, HSE, said the executive was most grateful to RB for their significant donation to the country’s health service and the Irish public. “The HSE has had massive support from business, communities, social groups and individuals since the start of this crisis and for this we are hugely thankful,” Reid added.

The Dettol initiative joins RB’s move at the end of March to support the global fight against Covid-19 with its RB Fight for Access Fund. Dettol first started in Irish hospitals 86 years ago, where it was used for cleaning and disinfecting surgical tools. The brand’s mission was widened to keeping people healthy by protecting families in their homes.
