Dixons moves to Starcom

The Dixons group of electrical stores has appointed Starcom to handle its media account after a competitive review. The €4 million-plus account was previously with Initiative. The UK group also includes Currys, PC World and the Pixmania online electrical store. Dixons’ creative work was not part of the review and stays at Rothco.

Drink Aware 2

Meas, the body funded by drinks companies to encourage responsible alcohol consumption, has moved to Mindshare from Initiative. A number of agencies with drinks accounts pitched for the €500,000 account, including Carat, which handles Diageo and Vizeum, whose clients include Irish Distillers and Bulmers.

Mindshare handles Heineken. Meas creative is handled by Language and was not under review.

Reviews still in progress include the DCU media and creative, which is handled by Mindshare and DDFH&B-JWT respectively. Three major creative accounts are still out to pitch, namely the National Lottery (DDFH&B-JWT), Eircom (Chemistry) and Fáilte Ireland. Decisions on these reviews are expected in the coming weeks.
