Tesco gives hospital kids some Christmas cheer

Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin has been transformed into a magical winter wonderland thanks to a team of ‘Santa’s Little Helpers’ volunteers from Tesco Ireland who dedicated two days of their time to deliver and decorate Christmas trees, hang decorations and spread a sleigh-full of festive cheer throughout the hospital.

In the Christmas run-up, Tesco is hosting store fun days to raise €150,000 for Temple Street.

All funds raised go towards the purchase of an advanced retinal camera for the theatre ward, needed to ensure that children receive the best care sight loss prevention and retinal cancer possible. Tesco customers can support Temple Street by buying festive floral bouquets for €10, with €1 from every sale going directly to the hospital.

Tesco Ireland has been a charity partner of Temple Street since 2014 and to date has raised over €4.7 million. Each year, the hospital treats over 150,000 children from across the country and for many of these youngsters it is the only hospital in Ireland where they can be treated.
