Nebenzahl set to replace Harland at OMG

Jason Nebenzahl has been named as the new chief executive of the Omnicom Media Group in Ireland following the decision by Dave Harland to step down from the role after 14 years. Nebenzahl has over 16 years media experience and was responsible for setting up Omnicom’s PHD Dublin office in 2008. Before that, he worked at OMD and Initiative.

He has worked as a buyer, account director, business development director and agency boss.

Following Nebenzahl’s promotion to CEO at OMG, Gemma Teeling (above) takes over the reins at PHD, while OMD’s Claire Butterly has the new role of COO at OMG. Teeling, who became deputy managing director at PHD in 2017, has a strong record in new business. She won the IAPI Doyenne award and Image magazine’s management professional of the year.

As Teeling is on maternity leave until year end, Nebenzahl will continue to head up PHD.

In a statement on the OMG news, it was said that “naturally, regarding Dave (Harland), it is our express intention to avoid words and phrases like ‘new era’ and “next chapter”, but now is a good time to highlight how proud we are that we have created a diverse, multi-faceted and thriving business where client service has transitioned to business partnership, media budgets to commercial investment and rate card discounts to marketing science.”

Harland will remain on at OMG until next summer, spending more time in an advisory role.
