O'Brien to headline journalism talk at NUI Galway

Businessman Denis O’Brien, who is currently embroiled in a power struggle with other shareholders and board members of Independent News & Media, will deliver the keynote address at a conference at NUI Galway on Friday, October 2nd. With the theme ‘Journalism of the Future: The Changes and the Challenges’, the event is being staged as part of the Connacht Tribune centenary celebrations.
O’Brien, founder of Communicorp and chairman of Digicel, will be joined by Roy Greenslade, professor of journalism at City University London and media commentator, most notably for The Guardian. Pat Loughrey of the BBC, Niall O’Dowd, founder of IrishCentral.com, Press ombudsman Prof John Horgan will also speak at the conference.
