Champion Green rallies support for communities

All rise is the thrust behind the new Champion Green movement aimed at helping the renewal of communities and promote local enterprise and economic recovery nationwide. Launched by radio host Aoibhín Garrihy, a green butterfly symbol lies at the heart of the Champion Green campaign and features on social media feeds, new products and on street art.

The green butterfly reflects growth, prosperity and hope as Ireland emerges from lockdown. Supported by Kilkenny Design and Visa in tandem with Retail Excellence, Small Firms Association (SFA) and the Chambers of Commerce, Champion Green is about how everyone can make supporting local not just a good intention, but a year-round habit.

The initiative was created by The Brill Building for Kilkenny Design.

Agency founder Roisin Keown and creative director Dan Henson (above) worked to Kilkenny Design director of business and marketing Evelyn Moynihan. It is the follow-up to the Green Friday activation the agency rolled out last Christmas. Photography was by Eoin Holland, the director was Brian Williams and Le Boom’s Christy Leech was the composer.

Ken Nolan of Mindshare planned and managed the integrated media campaign, which runs until year end and includes TV, radio, print, social, ambient, online and PR.
