Sky News has announced the launch of its catch up TV service. The service, which sits on Sky’s On Demand platform, is available from launch to over 120,000 Sky customers in Ireland who have already connected their Sky+HD set-top box to broadband. It allows customers to get up to speed with Sky News content by choosing the stories they want to watch when it suits them. Content will include bulletins, specially-commissioned programmes in the form of documentaries and the pick of Sky News’ archive.
As well as being able to access top stories, news features and analysis throughout the day, the news service will offer special programming such as Week in Review look back on the week’s news. The new Friday night show, Entertainment Week, hosted by Lucy Cotter, focuses on showbiz. There is a special section focusing on the work of technology correspondent, Tom Cheshire and the weekly tech show, Swipe.
Viewers can revisit news events from the last 25 years by way of The Vault, news features and documentaries.
